The unit has been designed for precise and fast placing of grain on a flat germ felt pad.

The Suction Hood has to be connected to a vacuum system using a flexible hose. The hole plate of the unit with its 100 bore holes produces a pull on the grain in the supply container. Two handles with ball and star knob are mounted at the sides for lifting and turning the unit. Borings, that did not take up a grain, are manually supplied with a grain. Then the hood may be turned and placed on the felt pad. Now the suction stream is interrupted and the hood is pulled up and placed in the supply container.

If the hood has been shifted slightly when lifting it, the total amount of grains that have to be placed manually is about 0 to 2 grains.

The preparation-time for germinating experiments may be reduced significantly by using this unit. For using folded germ felt pads and round seed we provide a special seed germinating apparatus.

The unit has been designed for precise and fast placing of 100 seed pills on a folded filter (germ felt pad).

The Seed-Germing-Unit consists of a hand-unit and a ground plate with two parallel tooth rails that recept the folded filter. A sufficient amount of pills is filled into the hand-unit. Now the unit is shifted sideways several times thus all 100 borings are covered with pills. Afterwards the unit is tilted slightly so that the redundant pills may roll down from the hole plate.

After securing the reservoir flap, the unit may be positioned on top of the folded filter. By shifting the spring loaded lower plate, the two groups of holes are brought into overlap and the pills fall down into the folded filter.

A plastic strip between the two rails is used for lifting the folded filter, which now can be pushed together and be removed.

The preparation-time for germinating experiments may be reduced significantly by using this unit. For using flat germ felt pads and round seed we provide a special suction hood.
